NEW - ARCUDA DWTP - SLUDGE TREATMENT ( WORK IN PROGRESS )

In order to continue the modernisation of Arcuda Drinking Water Treatment Plant, Apa Nova Bucuresti concluded a contract with the association Veolia Water Solutions and Technologies - Triada Prod Impex for the design, the execution, the installation and the commissioning of a Sludge Treatment Plant. The Contract duration is 36 months and the value is 33,886,629 lei (7,971,636 euros). The Veolia Water Solutions and Technologies part is 74.88% of the Contract value.

The Sluldge Treatment Plant will treat the sludge collected by a sludge dredger from the existing slash channels. Thus, this recovered sludge will not reach the river anymore, meeting the European requirements for the avoidance of discharge of the waste from the treatment plants into streams.

The total quantity of sludge to be treated is 45t dry substance/day

The dewatering of the thickened sludge will be accomplished through leaf press filters of 1500 mm X 2000 mm. The total surface for a filter is 630 m2, which will allow a high level of dryness (40%).

The works are foreseen to be performed in two stages. After the first stage, the treatment plant will be able to treat 22t dry substance/day, which is half of the maximum total quantity foreseen.

The proposed concept for the control system includes an advanced automation system, using principles certified by the international practice. These features will allow the operator to manage the station with a minimum of personnel.

The scope of works for Veolia Water Solutions and Technologies Romania within the frame of this Contract consists of the design of the station, the execution of the guide drawings for civil engineering, the management of the project, the organization of the Site, the supply of equipment, testing, commissioning, and technical assistance during the Defects Liability Period (24 months).
